An orrery is a "mechanical model of the solar system that illustrates the relative positions and motions of the planets and moons, usually according to the heliocentric model."
So far the earliest discovered orreries date back between 150 - 125 BC. The understanding of the solar system has changed dramatically over the ensuing centuries, and with Pluto recently being downgraded from planet status, it continues to change.
Our orreries don't necessarily represent our solar system; after all, fairyland is a different place!
These delightful 1:12 and 1:24 scale orreries are done in a steampunk style. They feature vintage gears and components as well as semi-precious stones and findings. As always, our work is truly one-of-a-kind. We don't use patterns or models.
In addition to orreries, we have steampunk books, rabbits, flowers, telescopes and birds.
Our offerings in 1:12 scale are continually growing, as the muse strikes us!
We also have non-miniature pieces, including steampunk guns (non-firing!) and steampunk cubes (working). If you're interested in purchasing, please contact us!
